Besides that, a small tube can be temporarily placed under the skin to drain excess fluid. These will be removed by your surgeon within the next two to three days after surgery. Your surgeon may recommend you to use a surgical bra to protect the incision and minimize swelling. You may experience some loss of sensation around the incisions, which is normal.
