You are not happy with the size and projection of your buttocks? You are not alone. Worldwide, nearly thirty thousands of people have BBL each year. Remember, if you are in good health, have realistic expectations and have sufficient amount of fat in your body, you are a good candidate for BBL.
Book your consultationThe Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a surgery including 2 main stages. At the first stage, fat tissue is harvested from one or more regions of the patient’s body through liposuction. Therefore, body regions that contain too much fat can be directly addressed. At the second stage, the patient’s own fat tissue is transferred into the patient’s butt. If you want to enlarge and shape your butt naturally (without using implants) and your body has extra fat that you want to get rid of, BBL may be an ideal treatment for you.

It is not hard to be eligible for a BBL procedure. If you are reading this, you are probably a candidate!
The first requirement for every cosmetic surgery procedure is to be healthy. This is especially true for the Brazilian Butt Lift surgery. Because the newly transferred fat tissue can survive only if the body succeeds to generate a healthy blood supply for the new cells.
In BBL procedures, the fat that will be transplanted to the butt will be harvested from the other regions of the body (such abdomen, waist, and thighs). Therefore, you need to have enough extra fat in your body to achieve meaningful results. If some parts of your body have excessive fat that you want to get rid of, and you want to have a larger and rounder butt, BBL may be the ideal treatment for you.
The outcomes of BBL can be analyzed in two main categories: aesthetical and psychological.
The Brazilian Butt Lift is a fat transfer procedure. Via BBL, both the donor regions (the regions from where the fat is harvested) and the butt (where the fat is transferred to) are aesthetically enhanced. Simultaneously, you will get rid of your excessive fat (located in your abdomen, waist, thighs, etc.) and you will have a larger and rounder butt which has more projection. Therefore, BBL procedure addresses whole body. Your surgeon will work on your body like a sculptor and you’ll have amazing new contours.
The psychological outcomes of the procedure are as important as the physical ones. If you are not happy with your butt, you can experience serious psychological distress which can negatively affect your self-confidence and social live. After the procedure, you will have a more positive self-image. Your newly resized and better-proportioned butt will boost your self-confidence. You will confidently wear your favorite fancy clothes!
BBL is a cosmetic surgery procedure performed to change the appearance of the butt by injecting the patient's own body fat into buttocks.
Like all kinds of surgery, BBL requires anesthesia. Depending on the case and the preference of the surgeon, BBL is done with either general anesthesia or local anesthesia combined with sedation.
The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure can be examined in 3 stages. In the first stage, fat tissue is harvested from the donor regions, through liposuction. The donor regions are chosen depending on the patient’s fat distribution. The most popular donor regions are abdomen, waist, and the thighs.
The second stage is the preparation of the harvested fat tissue. At this stage, the harvested fat tissue is purified and fortified for the transfer.
Finally, the third stage is the re-injection of the fat. At this stage, the processed fat tissue is re-injected inside the buttocks, by distributing it carefully. The incisions made for harvesting and re-injection are very small. Our contracted surgeons are highly skilled and experienced in liposuction and BBL procedures.
The safest gluteal augmentation procedure is fat grafting, which is the technique used in the BBL procedures. Overall complication rate was found to be 6.8%. With higher the volume of fat transfers, risks of infection at the grafting site and risk of seroma at the harvesting site has shown to increase, although with newer techniques the high-volume buttock fat transfer is safer than it used to be. The most common complications are seromas, pain, infection, and necrosis, in that order.
The probable complications are:
Before the BBL procedure, fat collection is made via liposuction, which although relatively uncommon and risk is lower compared with other procedures, has its own complications:
Early complications:
Late complications:
After your surgery is done, your surgeon will make you wear compression garments. After 1-2 days, you will be able to walk. Some pain, swelling and bruising are normal. Your surgeon will prescribe you pain medication. Your pain, swelling and discomfort will gradually ease. You will be able to resume daily light activities within 1 week.
You will not be able to sit or lie directly on your buttocks for 2 weeks after surgery. At this time, you need to sleep on your side or stomach, and you should avoid strenuous activities for several weeks. You may need to take 2-3 weeks off work, but this can change from patient to patient. After 6-8 weeks, you will be able to return to normal activities. After a few months, most of the recovery will be completed. During your whole recovery period, your surgeon and Clineca will inform you and guide you.
A wellbeing assistant will visit you in your hotel room every day during the first week after the surgery. We will expect you to be in our clinic for your post-op examination 1 week after the surgery, before you leave Istanbul. We will still follow your recovery process while you are away.
