Buttock Lift — before & after

Who Is A Good Candidate For Buttock Lift?

If you are healthy, have problems that can be solved by a body lift surgery, and have realistic expectations then you are a candidate! A buttock lift may be an ideal treatment for you: If you have stretched sagging skin in the gluteal area. *1 If you have significant soft tissue looseness in the gluteal area. If you lost significant weight through diet & exercise or through bariatric surgery. If aging caused tissue laxity and excess skin in the gluteal area. If you want well balanced contours, a firmer look, and a smoother skin.

What are the Expected Outcomes of Buttock Lift?

The outcomes of buttock lift can be analyzed in two main categories: aesthetical and psychological. Because of aging, weight fluctuations, and genetic factors, you may experience changes in different parts of your body including your buttocks. It is very common to have tissue and skin laxity and a sagging appearance, in the gluteal area. After successfully losing a significant amount of weight, you may have been left with sagging skin. Your skin may have lost its elasticity, simply because of aging. Luckily, buttock lift is a highly effective treatment. After the procedure, your buttocks will look firmer and smoother. The psychological outcomes of the procedure are as important as the physical ones. Sagging buttocks with excess and loose soft tissues, a dimpled appearance, a stretched skin, and not well-balanced contours can be psychologically distressing. You can feel like you are older than you actually are. You may not be able to enjoy your weight loss. You may find it hard to decide what you will wear. You may not like the way you look in the mirror. Therefore, after the procedure, strong psychological benefits are expected. You will start to love your body more.

“Because of the buttocks’ susceptibility to sagging, we frequently perform buttock lifts. Sometimes as a part of an extensive surgery, sometimes as a solitary procedure… In all cases, buttock lift consistently provides amazing results.”

How Is A Buttock Lift Done?

Buttock lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure performed to change the appearance of buttocks. It is customized according to needs and wishes of the patient.

Anesthesia

Like all kinds of surgery, buttock lift surgeries require anesthesia. Your surgeon will decide whether general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation is more suitable for your case.

Surgery

The essence of buttock lift surgery is the removal of excess fat and skin from the buttocks, tightening and reshaping the underlying tissues, and redraping the remaining skin to achieve a firmer and smoother appearance. During the surgery, your surgeon will make an incision. The most common technique uses an incision below the waistline, from hip to hip. An ellipse of excess fat and skin is removed. Underlying tissues are tightened and reshaped using deep sutures. The remaining skin is redraped over the newly shaped underlying tissues.

Combinations

For better sculpting the area and body contouring, liposuction can be performed. If you want larger buttocks, the procedure can be combined with a buttock augmentation procedure. *2 If you want to achieve a change in a larger portion of your body, buttock lift procedure can be performed as a part of a lower body lift, a thigh lift, or an abdominoplasty. Depending on the surgical approach the complication rates can differ. Following the surgeon’s directives during recovery is a must in order to minimize the risk of any complication. Overall, the possible complications are: Scar deformity Persistent skin laxity Seroma Wound dehiscence/separation Skin necrosis Cellulitis Embolism Gluteal cleft elongation
