Buttock Augmentation — before & after

Who Is A Good Candidate For Buttock Augmentation?

It is not hard to be eligible for a buttock augmentation with implants procedure. If you are reading this, you are probably a candidate! Like for all cosmetic surgeries, the first requirement to be eligible for buttock augmentation with implants is being healthy. If you are healthy, you don’t have any condition that may impair healing after the surgery, there is no obstacle for your surgery. The second requirement is that you have realistic expectations. You should understand the procedure and its expected results. Contrary to Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, you don’t need to have a certain amount of excess body fat to be eligible for buttock augmentation with implants. Buttock augmentation with implants may be an ideal treatment for you: If you feel like your buttocks are small. If think your buttocks are asymmetrical. If you don’t like the shape or projection of your buttocks.

What are the Expected Outcomes of Buttock Augmentation?

The outcomes of buttock augmentation with implants can be analyzed in two main categories: aesthetical and psychological. Buttock augmentation with implants increases the size and the projection of the buttocks and reshape them. Contrary to Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, the size that can be achieved through buttock implants is not determined by the excess fat in the body. Therefore, patients have more size and projection options. You will have bigger, rounder, and fuller buttocks. The aesthetic results can be enhanced through liposuction or additional fat grafting combined with your buttock augmentation with implants. These combined approaches allow the surgeon to carefully sculpt the buttocks. The psychological outcomes of the procedure are as important as the physical ones. If you are not happy with your butt, you can experience serious psychological distress which can negatively affect your self-confidence and social live. After the procedure, you will have a more positive self-image. Your newly resized and better-proportioned butt will boost your self-confidence. You will confidently wear your favorite fancy clothes!

“Buttock augmentation with implants allows us to increase the volume and the projection of the buttocks without being limited by the amount of excess fat in the body. However, using the available excess fat in combination with implants, we can achieve superior results.”

How is a Buttock Augmentation Done?

Buttock Augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure performed for various reasons. It is customized according to needs and wishes of the patient.

Anesthesia

Like all kinds of surgery, buttock augmentation with implants requires anesthesia. Your surgeon will decide whether general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation is more suitable for your case.

Surgery

The essence of buttock augmentation with implants is placement of silicone implants inside the buttocks to add volume and to increase the projection. First of all, your surgeon will make incisions. Through the incisions, your surgeon will place the silicone implants that are specifically designed for buttock augmentation. They are inserted either in the muscle or above the muscle. Buttock augmentation can be combined with liposuction or fat grafting. *2 Both approaches make it possible to sculpt the buttocks carefully to achieve superior results. Then, the incisions are closed. There will be deep stitches in the tissue and stitches on the skin surface.

Incision

There are several techniques of incision placement. An incision can be made for each buttock, near the top of them; an incision can be made for each buttock, at the bottom of them, in the natural crease between the buttocks and the upper thighs; or one incision can be made in the natural crease between the two buttocks, down the center of the sacrum, between the cheeks of buttocks.

Risks and Complications *3

In buttock augmentation with silicone implants the complication rate was found as 38% where the complications are: Wound dehiscence/separation (7.9%) Need for an implant revision for any reason (5.0%) Acute prolonged pain that lasts less than 12 weeks (4.2%) Need for implant removal for any reason (3.8%) Chronic seromas that can require drain placement (3.7%) Minor infection where implant removal isn’t required (3.6%) Excessive implant palpability (3.4%) Major infection where the implant removal is required (1.7%) Implant asymmetry (1.7%) Hematoma (0.8%) Chronic pain that lasts more than 12 weeks (0.7%) Inferior implant displacement (0.7%) Capsular contracture (0.6%) Nerve damage (0.4%)
